2017/7/10 Book reading - How you measure your life Clayton Christensen

Clayton Christensen is very famous for "Disruptive innovation" and a HBS professor.

I actually had a boss who has HBS AMP before. He moved to US after, so only a couple of times I talked with him. I was in a middle of MBA, so I asked him an advise. He recommended this book.



This is not about study but life decision criteria. When we especially change job, we think about salary, what we do, where ,etc. These he calls hygiene factors - not liking it, but not disliking them and improve hygiene factors of your job, you're not going to love it. Just not hating anymore.

On the other hand, There are called Motivators, which love your jobs.

Increase responsibility

He is telling us, we should not choose because of hygiene factors to improve, need to find Motivators in primary decision criteria.

Actually I did this criteria when I got this job as follows. Most of them I put ?, :-) so not really clear, but I was trying to choose because of Motivator for sure.

After 3 years, I'm happy now. Most the things I put ? was ◎. And here is what I found. And I put the following comments under.

Consider HBS AMP support within next 2 or 3 years.

This proof that I was planning to go to AMP when I took this job 2 and half year ago. Will power? not sure. I guess now I'm believing the words "Where there's a will, there's a way." by Abraham Lincoln.

3年後、私は今幸せです。ほとんど私が？としたものは◎でした。 そして私は以下のコメントを書いていました。 今後2〜3年以内にHBS AMPを検討（したい）。 2年半前にこの仕事に就くときにHarvard AMPを考えていた痕跡を見つけました。

「意志あるところに道は開ける」のかもしれません。
