2017/919 AMP Day10

Woke up 7. Slept better but missed exercise again. I will go tomorrow.

7時に起きました。だんだん眠れるようになってきましたが、またエクササイズにいけず。明日は行きます。

#1 class - Asset vs Expense under GAAP rule

When we have own P&L, we find there are many ways to report actually. So we have choices even following reporting standards. Key take away was, we use our insight to create credibility for financial reporting choices.

クラス１　GAAPルールにおける資産と経費の計上について
自分のPLを持つと、実際多くの方法で計上できることがわかります。
たとえGAAPルールに従っていたとしても計上に選択があります。
実業に沿った形できちんと計上していくことの大切さを学びました。

#2 class - Cola vs Pepsi

3 classmates taste test of different Coke/Pepsi/other Coke to see if they can identify them. Result is this. 1 out of 9, worse than the statistics!

クラス２　コカコーラ vs ペプシ

恒例の飲み比べ大会。コーラとペプシとその他。
さて結果はなんと、正解１つ！確立よりも悪いという。
最終的には微妙な味の違いは分からないということです。

We analyzed based on famous five force.
But interesting finding was, they are "rational competitors", meas they know how to play a game. They are in a marketing war, but they don't shoot each other. They grow market together and also stay creative to have good rivalry.

そしてここで登場のファイブフォース。ですが、面白いのは、たとえ競合であっても、ゲームのやり方を知っている理屈の通る競合であれば、マーケティング戦争でどのように戦うかはあっても、実弾を打ち込むことはない。いっしょにマーケットを拡大し、お互いが切磋琢磨して創造力を発揮して高めていく。よきライバルというお話し。

#3 class - Nokia

Sometimes vertical integration operating structure binds us. We have many success cases more outsource structure wins, such as Sharp vs Samsung on TV, Nokia vs Apple. It's a clear trade off, vertical or horizontal, but we need to watch carefully about the market trend and align our structure accordingly.

クラス３　ノキア
事業の垂直統合は時に我々を盲目にしてしまいます。今外注戦略でたくさんの成功事例はあるけれど（たとえばテレビのシャープ対サムソンとか、携帯のノキア対Appleなど）両者にはトレードオフが存在します。マーケットのトレンドに即した組織構造というものが答え。垂直統合にこだわり過ぎるのも良くない。また水平にしすぎるのも良くないということです。

#4 Individual coaching session #2

I'm really thankfulness to come all the way here to meet my coach. The first day we met, we all needed to wrote what I want to do or know, she said "These are not what you are looking for." Damn, she is SOOOO good at understanding my mind.

クラス４　個人コーチングセッション 2回目

コーチにあえただけでもAMPに来れてよかったと思っています。最初に会うときに、我々は事前に何を話したいのかを書いてセッションに臨むのですが、彼女はいきなり、
”これはあなたが求めていることではありませんよね？”
と一刀両断してくるあたり、さすがプロコーチ。私の心をよく分かってらっしゃる。
AMPでの個別コーチングはまだ始まったばかりで手探りのようですが、エクゼクティブはハードスキルより、ソフトスキル、そして人生とか大きなテーマの答えを見つけたいと思っているのではないでしょうか。そのあたりが私には絶妙にフィットしています。

One episode today make me so happy. Meeting supposed to start at 9:15. But others already gathered and wait for me. I was studying alone till 9:10.

Then what I heard later, one of my classmates stood up for me and said,

"Nick is Japanese, he is coming"

I'm glad if I could gain some trust as they see in my nationality, Japanese. I believe "Trust" can solve many issues.

さて、今日は面白いエピソードを一つ。
今日のミーティングは午後9時15分からで、みんな既に集まっていて私一人を待っている状況だったとのこと。実際9時10分まで机に向かっていました。
みんなNickを待つか始めるかという話しをしていたようなのですが、
”Nickは日本人だから（時間を守るから）必ず来るよ”と待ってくれたとのことを後から聞きました。日本人という国籍が、少しでも信頼を増すように働いていることが少し嬉しかったですね。信頼で解決できる問題は多いと信じています。

Almost one week had passed here, but I think I already transformed myself a lot. So next time you see me, I will be different person. (in a good way or bad way? Not sure :-)
