2017/10/10 AMP Day31

Opening latter half of program. Got up early, this is 6 am at Baker Library. Still dark.
Went for boot camp.
後半戦の開始。早く起きてブートキャンプへ。まだ暗い朝の6時。

In case you are wondering what boot camp is, it is a athletic training.
Very hard to explain, so I drew a picture. (Please use your imagination)
There are 8 sections and 45 sec each x 8 section x 3 rounds. This is really tough and all my body hurts the next day (or day after, not young anymore :-).

さて、ブートキャンプとはなんぞや？というご質問がありました。説明は難しいですが、想像力を働かせて下の図をご覧ください。
この8セッション45秒を３回。楽そうだけど翌日（もしくは翌々日）に筋肉痛に襲われます。そんなに若くありません。

Class #3 South Africa
Very shocking to find out that the history of inequality, 27% of job less rate, 19% of age 15 - 49 are AIDS and life expectancy is 65. We have a couple of female participants from South Africa. They are bright and smart, smiling all the time. But I believe they made a tremendous effort, incredible work done and took a chance to get here. Comparing to them, our lives in Japan are so easy. Really respect them.

彼らの歴史を紐解いていくなか大きなショックを受けました。人種差別、27%の離職率、15歳から49歳の19%がAIDSであり、平均寿命は65歳という現実。AMP 193には南アフリカから数名の女性が参加されており、彼女達は明るく、聡明で、いつも素敵な笑顔が印象的。でもその笑顔の奥に、これまでどれほどの苦労と努力をしてここまで這い上がって来たのだろうと思いました。日本は恵まれています。彼女達を本当に尊敬します。
